James qualifies for F.A.M.E Team 2012

James Theaker has qualified through to the final sixteen of the 2012 F.A.M.E Team completion in London.

The F.A.M.E Team (Fellowship Academy of Merit and Excellence) annually select bright young hairdressers to help promote a new generation in hairdressing.

James has to go through a rigorous selection process which began with a nomination from a Fellowship Member. Photographic work is then submitted, followed by the chance to recreate their look before judges under time pressure. A detailed CV, an in depth interview, a further haircut, a long hair assessment and a two minute demo on stage at Salon International in London.

If he gets through all of the above and is chosen as a member of the team he faces a busy year ahead doing photo shoots, media publicity, fashion shows, hairdressing shows and events. This will give James the chance to hone his skills and a platform on which to shine.

It is an invaluable insight into how the top end of the industry works. It does not necessarily make young hairdressers famous but is a fantastic launch pad.

The Fellowship gives the team wings, and then it is up to them how and where they fly...”
James is in London on Sun 11th Sept for the first stage of the selection.

All the team at Mark Scott wish him luck
